09 - Water for sealing

→ For Serving

10 - Sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping
11 - Chopped fresh chives or coriander

# Recipe Steps:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, spring onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.
02 - Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of filling into the center of each wrapper.
03 - Dip your fingertip in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold into a triangle, pressing out any air and sealing the edges tightly.
04 - Bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and seal with a bit of water to form a traditional wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
05 - Preheat your air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
06 - Lightly spray or brush the wontons with oil. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
07 - Air fry for 7 to 8 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
08 - Transfer wontons to a serving plate and serve hot with sweet chili sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.

  • Softened cream cheese is key: Let it come to room temperature before mixing for a smooth, lump-free filling.
  • Seal tightly: Press out all air before sealing the edges to prevent the wontons from bursting during cooking.
  • Work in batches: Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket — a single layer ensures even crisping on all sides.
  • Egg wash for extra crunch: Brushing with a little beaten egg before air frying gives a deeper golden colour and extra crispiness.
  • Serve immediately: These wontons are at their very best straight from the air fryer — the crispness fades as they cool.
