01 - 7 oz good-quality dark chocolate
02 - 7 oz good-quality white chocolate

03 - 8 peppermint candy canes or 4 oz hard peppermint candies, crushed
04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (optional)

05 - 0.7 oz freeze-dried raspberries, crushed (optional)
06 - 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (optional)
# Recipe Steps:
01 - Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Gently melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
03 - Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the baking sheet and spread with a spatula into a rough rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick.
04 - Refrigerate for 10 minutes until it is just set but not fully hardened.
05 - Melt the white chocolate using the same method; if desired, stir in peppermint extract.
06 - Pour the melted white chocolate over the chilled dark chocolate layer and spread evenly.
07 - Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies and optional garnishes over the white chocolate, pressing lightly to adhere.
08 - Return to the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes until fully set.
09 - Break or cut the bark into irregular shards for serving.
10 - Place the shards loosely on a large wooden board to allow guests to serve themselves.
