- 1/2 cup brown sugar: light or dark, 100 g

Instructions
- Preheat oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup
- Cut bacon:
- Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise to create 24 shorter strips
- Wrap smokies:
- Wrap each cocktail smokie with a half-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick
- Arrange on sheet:
- Arrange the wrapped smokies on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, seam side down
- Sprinkle sugar:
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of each bacon-wrapped smokie
- Bake:
- Bake for 30 35 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the sugar is melted and caramelized
- Cool:
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving (sugar will be very hot)
